Gil Meche went the distance at Pro Player Stadium as the Chainsaw
Proctologists lost a heartbreaker to Burbank Tigers by the score of 3 to
2.
Burbank won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Bobby
Higginson slapped a single. Jose Guillen stepped up next and he grounded
into a double play. Luis Matos then hit a single. Morgan Ensberg followed
and he drew a walk. Matt Lecroy stepped into the box and smacked a single
making Burbank the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
Although they lost, Chainsaw did out-hit Burbank 10 to 7.
Meche(4-10), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Miguel
Batista(6-11) was charged with the loss. He pitched 8 and 2/3 innings
allowing 6 hits and 2 walks.
